Abraham and his wife, Sarah lived
in the Er. Despite being old Abraham and Sarah really wanted to have a child of
their own. One day God went to Abraham and said “Abraham you must leave your
people and go to Canaan”. Abraham obeyed God and him and Sarah went to Canaan.
When they arrived God said “Your faith will reward with a son of your own and
you shall have many descendants”. Abraham was so grateful to God.
Sarah did start to feel like she shouldn’t have any children because she was getting to old. Abraham and Sarah were 100 years old when God finally gave them a child. Sarah had a baby boy and he was called Issac. She was shocked she could still have children at such an old age.
Issac grew up to be a wonderful son to Abraham and Sarah. God saw they were very happy and decided to test Abraham’s faith. One day, God told Abraham, “Take your son, Issac, to the land of Moriah. When you get there, you must offer him as a sacrifice to me.”
Sadness and rage filled Abraham’s heart. How could the Lord ask him to kill his son he loved so much? But Abraham knew he had to do as God commanded. Abraham set off the next morning with Issac.
When Abraham and Issac finally made it Abraham made an altar for Issac and covered it in sticks to burn. He then tied Issac up and covered his eyes. With tears in his eyes Abraham raised a knife to Issac. An angel appeared and said “do not hurt him! The lord sees you still honour and obey him, he is pleased with you”. The Lord was overjoyed with Abraham and said that he will have many descendants.
